Aikens Lake, Manitoba, Canada

The second phart fishing sojourn, this one had us flying into the nether reaches of Canada. After a scheduled airline flight from Kansas City to Winnipeg we boarded a float plane for the remaining leg to Aikens Lake www.aikenslake.com/main/index.php. The flight took us over a lot of scenic Canada lake country. Earplugs came in very handy. We stayed at a Great Gray Owl www.aikenslake.com/accommodations/great-gray-owl.htm on the edge of the lake, a perfect location with lots of room and a big kitchen. We either cooked ourselves or on one evening the local hotel sent over a staff to cook for us. Fishing was generally good, with daily shore lunches of walleye and pike. Several pharts distinguished themselves by becoming Master Anglers, with there catches immortalized on the Aikens Lake website.
